Our Optometry Practice in Wasilla

 Cedric Godnig has been a licensed optician in Alaska Since 2006. He traveled heavily with the Eye Guys setting up travel clinics in years prior, and now runs the lab at the Wasilla headquarters.

He grew up in Maine, finishing high school in Kittery. After graduation he went to New York City to attend Pace University. After 4 years of city-life, and receiving a BA from Pace, he looked to move to the mountains. He decided to join his father who was moving to Alaska. They left Maine, and drove to Alaska, arriving in the fall of 2003. A couple years after their arrival, his father established Eye Guys, and he has been working with them since.

Cedric is married to Jennie and they have a son and daughter, Zavier and Quincy. They live in Wasilla and enjoy snowboarding, snowmachining, skiing, xc skiing, biking, four wheeling /side by siding, paddleboarding, rifle and bow hunting, as well as trips to beaches when they can.

Oliver Godnig is currently the co-owner, optician, and travel coordinator for The Eye Guys Alaska. Known as the go-to guy in his workplace, Oliver has been in his current role since August 2022. However, his journey with The Eye Guys Alaska dates back to 2008, just a year after he entered the eye care industry in 2007.

Oliver is known for being playful yet attentive, with a knack for getting things done. His dedication to his work is evident in his educational background—he earned his associate’s degree from UAA in 2007 before earning his optician certification in 2009.

What Oliver finds most fulfilling about his job is the opportunity to work with patients who genuinely appreciate the home-based service provided by The Eye Guys Alaska. His commitment to patient care and satisfaction is a testament to his professional ethos.

When he’s not working, Oliver is an avid outdoorsman, engaging in various activities depending on the season. He is passionate about woodworking and enjoys exploring different cuisines, traveling, and staying current with the world. Oliver firmly believes in lifelong learning and continually seeks new experiences and insights.
